In recent years the proliferation of wineries and vineyards in Texas has occurred at an amazing rate. There are over 50 of them in Central Texas alone with most of them being concentrated in the Texas Hill Country region. The wine industry is also becoming one of the largest employers in the state and has done a lot to boost tourism in the state. Most of them belong to local associations called “wine trails” and collectively promote certain weekends out of the year to host tours and entertainment events.
